Kids 4 Christ: Changing the World One Kid at a Time
Designed especially for children age 3 through 5th grade.
Meets Wednesday evenings from 6:45-8:00 during the school year.
K4C is based on the Workshop Rotation Model. Workshops in art, theater/storytelling, computer, music, and cooking are used to teach the Bible. The kids rotate to a different workshop each week for three weeks. One teacher remains in the same workshop for the entire three week rotation. The same lesson is taught, with age appropriate adjustments, to a new group each week. The three week process is repeated as several different Biblical topics are taught through the year.
Advantages:
Teachers do planning once per rotation, therefore they can put more emphasis on each lesson.
Students are more actively involved.
Kids develop a deeper understanding as the lesson is reinforced in several ways.
More time is spent on a single activity.
Leaders teach in a mode that appeals to them and the kids.
The model incorporates multiple learning styles, which allow the kids to learn their way.
